Halloween has its origins in the Catholic Church and is celebrated on November 1st. On this day Catholics celebrate "All Saints Day". But the days of the ancient Celtic celebration takes place on the night of October 31 to November 1. Celts believed that on this night the spirits of the dead are back among the living. And how the living did not want to be possessed dressed in scary costumes as they walked the streets to ward spiretele. From here you shoot and pumpkin carving tradition and putting a candle inside. Pumpkins and they must be scary to drive away evil spritele. How do we celebrate Halloween? In Romania this event is known as the "Day of the Dead" and takes place on November 1st.
